i-Learner positions herself as a teaching companion designed to ensure that every student user achieves high English competency. As such, the range of services that i-Learner provides is extensive.

• Interactive Internet Platforms

i-Learner provides various interactive Internet platforms which facilitate the learning of English language and literature. These platforms include:

• Reading i-Learner,
• Grammar i-Learner,
• English Classics i-Learner,

• The Gotoschool Website (http://www.gotoschool.com.hk)

The gotoschool website is a high quality information platform for teaching and learning. It is an Internet hub for teachers, students and parents to acquire, exchange and create teaching and learning resources.

• Professional Development Seminars

Seminars for teachers are held regulary. In the past years, our e-Learning Seminar Series had the honour of having Professor David Nunan (Director of English Language Center of the University of Hong Kong) and Dr. Bob Fox (Deputy Director of CITE of the University of Hong Kong) as the speakers. Their seminars were entitled "The Potential of e-Learning" and "Innovative e-Practices" respectively. More than two hundred English language teachers attended these seminars. They gained and shared their insight on e-Learning and e-Teaching.

• English Immersion Activities

i-Learner strives to enhance the standard of English in Hong Kong. Apart from e-learning platforms, free or cost-effective all-English activities are hosted so that students are given the opportunity to immerse themselves in English.

These activities aim to foster students' interest and love in English. Our tutors are experienced teachers or native English speaking tutors who have graduated from Oxford University, Cambridge University or other top universities in the UK or the US. Our past activities include:

• Walk'n Talk: i-Learner co-organised a hiking activity with MingPao Daily and Coca Cola in November 2005 . Near ly three hundred students had fun walking, talking and using English in the sunny and crisp autumn air.
• English Fun Day: The Harry Potters, the Little Princes, the Charlies in the Chocolate Factory, and the Narnians met and compete d by shouting cheers, staging their stories, doing body puzzles, competing as English ' dealers ' , and playing many other games...
• EnglishLeap Day Camp: "Speak, speak, speak and see your English leap!" - The camp was a day for all - English activities, from k ung fu and a puppet performance to song s in English and a fruitful poetry workshop.
• School-based English activities : These activities have included English game booths for school open days and thematic English workshops on poetry, phonics, grammar, etc.

• Programmes on English and English Literature

i-Learner organises a series of Shakespeare activities in China and Hong Kong in coordination with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. These include a Shakespeare Encounter in the summer of 2006 and a China Shakespeare Festival in 2007.

• Learning and Teaching Companions

i-Learner also publishes different learning and teaching companions including:

1. motivational stickers,

2. bookmarks,

3. reading cards and

4. ex-Libris.
